Emiko Yokoyama is an acrylic painter who portrays animals and plants in a carefree manner.  Having loved drawing since childhood, she took classes on illustration and picture book making as an adult where she learned the basics of art. While experiencing various jobs, she has spent her days drawing pictures and participating in exhibitions once in a while. When she was in her mid-30s, she experienced the tragic loss of her loved one. Having fallen sick in the aftermath, she reflected on her own life.  She swore to revolve her life around painting, focusing all her energy on it. Painting to her means hope, wish, prayer, and the very energy for her to live. Creating artwork that gives off energy in a purely relaxed manner like a child, she wishes that more people will have paintings in their daily lives.
